Kalli is less than enthusiastic about spending Christmas at his father's rural home. It is bad enough that he doesn't get along with his stepsister, Ellen; the region does not even have cell-phone service. When his stepmother goes into labour, leaving Kalli and Ellen alone in the house, Kalli seizes the opportunity to hike to a nearby transmission tower where he plans to phone a taxi to take him back to his mother in the city. He has no idea of the adventure that lies in store.
A blizzard is approaching and, knowing that Kalli has no survival skills, Ellen sets out to find him. With the storm raging, the pair manages to take shelter in an abandoned house where, incredibly, Kalli encounters the ghost of a boy who is upset that people believe he led a group of hikers to their deaths over a century earlier. Kalli promises to help the ghost clear his name but when Kalli goes back on his word, the ghost makes a terrifying pronouncement: neither child will leave the house alive!
Shot on location in northern Iceland during the winter, No Network is a thrilling adventure set in the natural and supernatural worlds and a heartwarming story of two children learning to overcome their differences and beginning to see each other as family.
