Submit your short film or video to the Young Filmmakers Showcase today!
The Young Filmmakers Showcase brings together the best film and video made by youth in grades five to twelve from across British Columbia. Are you a filmmaker or aspiring filmmaker? This is your chance to show us what you can do with a camera, your imagination and maybe a little help from your friends. 

You are welcome to upload your submissions right now! To download the 2011 entry form and eligibility criteria click here. All submissions that have been approved by our moderators will be made public on February 1,  2011. Films can be uploaded here, to our website or via YouTube.

If your short film or video is selected as a finalist, your work will be showcased on the big screen during the festival and your film will be eligible to win great prizes!




SUBMISSION CRITERIA

YFS is open to filmmakers who are, as of September 1, 2010, 18 years of age and under; Entrants must be residents of British Columbia; Individual and group entries will be considered;
and adult participation must be limited to a supervisory or actor role. Submission must not have been selected previously as part of the YFS or Reel 2 Real.




SELECTION PROCESS
All submissions meeting the above criteria will be considered. A curator selects the finalists to be screened at the R2R awards ceremony. A jury consisting of film industry professionals will assess the finalists and select prizewinners based on proficiency in form, expression, experimentation and content.

Each finalist’s short film will be screened at the Reel 2 Real International Film Festival for Youth. Films not selected by the curator will not be screened. Finalists will be invited to attend the screening. Prizes will be awarded in the following categories: Best Lighting and/or Sound, Best Acting, Best Original Screenplay, Best Direction, Best Picture, and Audience Award.

Entrants may submitt more than one work, so long as each film meets the Submission Criteria (see the Entry Information Sheet and FAQ's).
