There are some AMAZING movies playing at the Vancity Theatre this month for their SPARK FX series. All these movies have great special FX. From the legendary film THE SEVENTH VOYAGE OF SINBAD, to the stunning PAN'S LABYRINTH. I would highly recommend going to see SINBAD. Special FX MASTER Ray Harryhousen worked on this film. He was a great animator and special FX genius who took animation to a whole new level. Other films include ALIEN, CITY OF LOST CHILDREN, FORBIDDEN PLANET, and THE ABYSS There will be guests in attendance at some of the films. It is rare that there are films which are shown within the school day, fit the curriculum, and merit a field trip. Reel 2 Real films easily satisfy these criteria, and in addition, the VanCity Theatre is a lovely space, which makes the outing even more special. Students engaged in a lively discussion following the film, and many parents commented on how much they enjoyed hearing about the film from their children later on in the day.
