A nine-year-old American girl recounts the year she spent living and going to school in southern China. This film shows Rebeka attending an all-Chinese school, learning to read, write, and speak Mandarin, and making friends with her classmates.
Winner of several prizes at the 1993 Chicago International Film Festival for Children: Best Educational Program, Prize for Enhancing Global Awareness, and the USC/UNICEF Rights of the Child Nomination.
