Are you a filmmaker or aspiring filmmaker? This is your chance to show us what you can do with a camera, your imagination and maybe a little help from your friends. You can upload your submissions to YouTube* right now!
SUBMISSION CRITERIA
• YFS is open to filmmakers who are, as of September 1, 2011, 29 years of age and under.
• Entrants must be residents of British Columbia.
• Individual and group entries will be considered. Adult participation must be limited to a supervisory or actor role.
• Submission must not have been selected previously as part of the Young Filmmakers Showcase or Reel 2 Real.
TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS
• Any film or video format may be used in production. HOWEVER, accepted entries must be submitted on DVD. The DVD copy must be a final screening version of the submission. The DVD must have NO MENUS, and should begin to play when inserted into a standard DVD player.
• Running time must not exceed 7 minutes.
• YFS encourages the use of original music. If the submitted work contains copyrighted music and is selected as a finalist, the filmmaker(s) may need to obtain the rights to use that music.
DEADLINE
1. The Entry Form must be signed and mailed to our office, and postmarked no later than January 27, 2012.
2. Upload your film to YouTube by January 30, 2012 at 5 pm PST.
3. Email the link to education@r2rfestival.org
If your film is selected as a finalist, it will be showcased on the big screen during the festival, and will be eligible to win great prizes!
*You will need to have a YouTube account in order to upload your film. If you do not already have an account, you will need to create one. Please contact us if you have any questions about this.
